Police arrest four for stealing vechicle parts

Police operatives attached to Surulere Division have arrested four members of a syndicate that specialize in vandalizing and selling vehicle parts.
Spokesman for Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement said that the suspects were arrested on Wednesday September 7, 2022 after a report was received that three Mercedes Benz SUVs brought in for repairs at a mechanic workshop were vandalized and their brain boxes and oil pumps stolen.
Hundeyin said that the suspects, Sodiq Odugbade (20), Aliyu Yusufa (20), Ayinla Aliaminu (21) and Ayomide Ogunshiyi (18), who were mechanic apprentices in the neighborhood, have provided useful information to the police, adding that efforts were on to arrest the receivers of the stolen items.
The suspects have been arraigned, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, assured Lagosians of the relentless efforts of officers and men of the Command to bring crime to the barest minimum.
