Police arrest man for alleged murder of pastor in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Wale Ogunsanmi, for allegedly murdering his church pastor, Shina Olaribigbe, 52.
Ogunsanmi is said to have broken into his estranged wife’s residence on January 1, 2025, at about 11:25 PM, where he found her with the pastor and stabbed him to death with a knife.
In a statement, police spokesperson CSP Yemisi Opalola reported that officers from the Dugbe Division responded promptly to the scene, arrested the suspect, and recovered a knife.
It was gathered that the pastor, known for intervening in their disputes, had gone to visit the wife, who had been ill for some time when the incident occurred.
The pastor’s body has been deposited at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
The police are currently investigating the matter to ensure justice is served.
