Police arrest man for allegedly killing girlfriend in Osun

Osun State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist, Bashiru Ajadi for allegedly killing and dismembering his girlfriend, Ashiata Yekeen in Ajadi Arin village, Oke-Osun in Ayedire Local Government area of the state.
Ashiata was declared missing some weeks ago by her family after she had visited Ajadi at his residence in Oke-Osun.
However, some of the relatives suspected that the deceased was kidnapped by her lover, Ajadi and decided to report the incidents to Amotekun operatives in Iwo.
Confirming the incident, the Field Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Mr. Amitolu Shittu said one of the sons of the victim and a friend to the mother reported the matter to the corps at Iwo.
He said the suspect fled when operatives of Amotekun went to his house with a view to inviting him for questioning.
The matter, according to the Shittu was later reported to the police.
He said: “Ajadi killed the woman and dismembered her corpse at Ajadi Arin village, Oke-Osun, Osun State.”
It was learnt that the prime suspect who had earlier fled to Ileogbo was later nabbed at Lalupon, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State and his confessional statement let to the arrest of two other accomplices in the murder, Alfa Musi and one Orela and they are being held at the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Osogbo.
