Police arrest man with firearm in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 32-year-old Abubakar Ibrahim for aleged illegal possession of a firearm.

This was made known in a statement by the Spokesman for the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his X account on Monday.

Hundeyin said “Illegal possession of firearm: 32-year-old Abubakar Yahaya Ibrahim and two others were stopped by police officers at about 2am in Igbo Elerin area.

“Though all three fled, Abubakar was eventually apprehended and searched. Found in his bag were a locally fabricated double-barrel firearm, one expended and one live cartridge. The investigation is ongoing.”
