The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested three suspects for alleged cyberstalking, identity theft, and online fraud, reinforcing its renewed drive against cybercrime.
The arrests followed a nationwide specialized training program on the Athena Forensic Intelligence Solution (AFIS), conducted in partnership with Radio Tactics Group Limited from July 9 to August 15, 2025. A total of 192 officers drawn from all 36 states, the FCT, and specialized formations participated.
Facilitated by experts from the NPF National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) and Radio Tactics, the training focused on threat identification, forensic data extraction from devices, biometric capture, and the use of forensic hotlists to strengthen investigations.

The suspects — Gbenga Samuel, Dele Titus, and Olalekan Oke — were arrested in Abuja and Lagos for hacking into a victim’s WhatsApp account, threatening to leak sensitive data, and demanding a ransom of ₦3 million.
Investigations revealed that the trio were linked to a wider network of organized cybercrime. The compromised account has since been recovered, while further inquiries are ongoing.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun reiterated the Force’s commitment to embracing modern digital tools and continuous training to meet global best practices in tackling emerging cyber threats.
