The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers and recovered motorcycles allegedly used for criminal operations in parts of the state.
The suspects, identified as Abubakar Sindiku, 25, and Oliver Okoh, 35, were apprehended by operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit following intelligence-led operations carried out on February 11, 2026.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the arrests were made at Sabo Sango along Ado Road and Ilado Community after credible tracking analysis and technical intelligence linked the suspects to an ongoing kidnapping investigation.

The police said the suspects were taken into custody and had since been providing useful information to investigators to aid ongoing efforts to dismantle the criminal network.
Preliminary findings indicated that the suspects were members of a kidnapping syndicate and allegedly used motorcycles for surveillance, target identification, and logistical support for other gang members.
The statement added that the motorcycles and other operational items believed to have been used in facilitating the group’s activities were recovered during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adebowale Lawal, commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for strengthening intelligence-driven policing and improving coordination among security formations nationwide.
Lawal reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
