Police declare John Osas wanted over homosexual
The police force has declared John Osas wanted over offence of homosexual In accordance with Nigeria’s anti-gay law, enacted in January 2014 stipulates 14 years prison term for anyone convicted of having sex with manter person or persons of the same sex.
A warrant of arrest has been issued by a Magistrate count in Benin city of Edo state. John Osas was 34 years old, hails from Eguachaor-Lsi village, in Uhwmonde LGA of Edo state where he was initially on 5th May 2012 apprehended by the vigilant group and some Youths of in his village.
He was ssummoned by the village elders in-council, where he was humiliated, isolate and was excommunicated from sex family, he was also disowned by his parents for being a homosexual, according to the police spokes man
who also stated further that he is being threatened by the People of his village to kill him if sighted in the village, Since homosexuality is against the norms, custom and culture of and believed to be a taboo in Eguachaor-Lsi village.

Police discovered he was staying with One William who was also a homosexual, where luck ran against William who was arrested by the Nigeria Police on 20/09/2014 in Benin City, John Osas is still on the run while William has been prosecuted and jailed according to Nigeria Law on homosexual. John Osas was last seen in Kano, in Kano state, Nigeria.
Police is appealing to the general public to assist the police with any good information that can lead to the arrest of John Osas.
