By Boye Oyeyemi –

The Ondo State Police Command has said it has intensified efforts to secure the release of a nursing mother abducted by suspected kidnappers in the Akoko area of the state.

Western Post had reported that the woman was abducted alongside her baby along the Supare–Ayegunle axis of Akoko South West Local Government Area.

Confirming the development in a telephone interview, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abayomi Kazeem, said security operatives had been deployed to the area.

“Efforts are already in place. We have additional security apparatus deployed in that area.

“We are already combing the bush for the possible rescue of the victims alive and unharmed.

“I can assure you that the perpetrators of this crime will never go scot-free; the law will definitely catch up with them,” he said.
