Police launch manhunt for killers of Ondo female farmer

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of a woman, Mrs. Rabiat Atere, whose body was discovered on her farmland in Oka-Akoko, in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

Though the exact cause of her death is still unknown, local sources have speculated that she may have been attacked by suspected herdsmen.

Reports indicate that her remains have been taken to a hospital in Iwaro-Oka for further investigation.

The spokesperson for the state police, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident during a telephone interview on Wednesday.

He said the police have already begun investigating the case and that efforts are underway to track down those responsible.

“I can confirm the incident. The Ondo State Police Command has launched a manhunt to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice,” Ayanlade stated.
