Police parade 10 suspects for murder, kidnapping, robbery in Ilorin

Kwara State Police Commissioner, Paul Odama on Thursday paraded 10 suspects linked to murder, kidnapping and robbery cases in the state.
Odama said a suspect, 45 years old Umaru Mohammed, who kidnapped two siblings, Umaru and Yusuf Ibrahim, sent on errand to a nearby village in Ijan Otun via Oro in Irepodun Local Government and demanded N30 million was arrested with the help of local hunters and vigilante, while the victims were rescued unhurt.
He disclosed that police investigation led to the arrest of three suspects, who he said were also responsible for the kidnap of Chief Mrs. Jumoke Bamigboye, wife of former military administrator in Osun and Bauchi States.
The police commissioner said three notorious kidnappers, Babangida Ibrahim (18), Abubakar Ibrahim (19) and Sulaiman Kire (20) stormed the family house of Alhaji Madaki Saidu in Eiyenkorin area of Ilorin, hacked his son Musa Madaki to death and kidnapped Madaki Saidu and one of his granddaughters named Cumattu Madaki.
He added that two suspects, Sanni Sule (26) and Abdulsalam Kuta (20) were arrested for the kidnap of a cheese seller, Tallatu Goma at Shao, Moro Local Government Area of the state.
Odama said Victor Olorunmayese, one of the two members of Eye Confraternity cult, who robbed a POS operator, Mrs. Jemilat Asiyanbi of N300,000 at Kilanko area of Ilorin at gunpoint was arrested with the help of members of the community.
The commissioner said that the second suspect Lekan, who escaped with the gun is still being wanted by the police.
He said the suspects would soon appear in court.
Fielding questions from newsmen, Odama said the command has obtained court judgment for the transfer of former Chief Medical Director of Kiama General hospital, Dr Adio Adeyemi Adebowale, who was accused of killing his girlfriend and a kidnapped victim from Benin in Edo State.
Dr Adebowale allegedly buried the remains of his girlfriend, Ifeoluwa, in his office and also dumped the body of a kidnapped victim in the trash bin.
“We discover that he killed two people in Kwara State. I sent people to Edo State and spoke with him, and he also confessed to have killed two other people there in Edo State. I know when he gets here, he will confess to more killings.
“We have already obtained court order to go to Edo State and bring him to Ilorin for further interrogation,” he said.
