Popular comedienne, Princess, calls out clergymen over her singlehood

Comedienne and actress Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, has appealed to well-known clerics to help her connect with eligible men in their congregations.

Princess made the plea on Instagram on Monday, calling specifically on Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Pastor Phillip, Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Selman, and Apostle Femi Lazarus to link her to responsible and kind single men in their churches.

She explained that her divorced status does not prevent her from seeking love. Her boldness, she said, comes from listening to sermons encouraging believers to be proactive and back their words with action—hence her public appeal.

“I am calling out Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Pastor Phillip, Pastor Jerry Eze, Apostle Selman, and Apostle Femi Lazarus. I am sure you know you have congregants, both physical and online. I have heard so many things from you about being bold and supporting your words with actions, which is why I am making this video.”

“I am single, even though I am divorced. I have sent messages to a few of you and commented on your videos asking, ‘Help a sister! There must be a responsible, kind man in your congregation who is in his 40s or early 50s. Help a sister.’”

Princess also addressed critics, urging them not to mock her. She emphasised that her goal requires action, not just prayer and fasting.

She outlined the steps she has already taken to find a suitor and appealed to the clergymen to pass her message to eligible congregants.

“You said we should not lock our DMs, and we didn’t. This January 2026, I am begging the five of you to go through the list of single men in your churches—responsible and kind men in their 40s or 50s. You don’t have to do anything. Just send me their Instagram handles, and I will take it from there!” she pleaded.
