Portable arraigned in Ogun court for assault

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was arraigned at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday.
The arraignment followed his surrender to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba on Wednesday after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
Portable is facing charges related to an incident on February 5, 2025, when he allegedly led an attack on officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise at his bar in the Sango Ota area.
The attack left the officials injured, and although nine of Portable’s associates were arrested, he evaded capture until his recent surrender.
Born on March 12, 1994, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Portable rose to fame with his 2021 hit single “ZaZoo Zehh,” featuring Olamide and Poco Lee. His career has been marked by numerous controversies, including public disputes with other artists and allegations of violent behavior.
The Ogun State Government has condemned Portable’s actions, labeling him a “serial dissident and unrepentant rascal,” and reiterated its commitment to enforcing the law.
Further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
