Power returns to Iware as Rep. Makanjuola installs new transformer

By Adejayan Gbenga –
Residents of Iware community in Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State erupted in joy following the installation of a new transformer that restored electricity after months of total blackout.
The project was delivered by Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, popularly known as SMATO, the member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Iware had been in darkness for a long period due to the breakdown of its former transformer, a situation that crippled businesses, slowed economic activities, and made life difficult for residents.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Makanjuola described the intervention as a fulfillment of his duty to the people.
“This is not just about electricity; it is about giving hope, reviving economic activities, and making life easier for my people,” he said.
He appreciated community leaders and residents for their patience and resilience during the difficult period, assuring them that their welfare remains his priority.
“This is another step in our commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every part of Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency,” the lawmaker added.
With the restored electricity, residents of Iware said they now look forward to improved socio-economic activities, business revival, and better living conditions.
