Presidency denies allegations of President Tinubu leading delegation to Paris

The Presidency has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu led a group of Nigerians to Paris, France, to testify on behalf of the country.

Bayo Onanuga, the presidential spokesman, issued a statement on Saturday addressing false information circulating on social media about an arbitration proceeding in Paris involving the Nigerian government.

The statement described the proceeding as “entirely confidential,” adding that it “should not have been reported in the media until the international arbitrators reach a decision.”

“While respecting the confidentiality of the proceeding, we wish to state categorically that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not forced anyone to testify for or refrain from testifying against Nigeria,” Onanuga said.

The statement further clarified that “all the eminent Nigerians involved in Nigeria’s defence are doing so willingly out of sheer patriotism and conviction. President Tinubu and the entire country are grateful to them.”
