Presidency resolves NIPOST DG job saga in favour of Tola Odeyemi

The Presidency has resolved the raging controversy over who is the new Director-General at NIPOST in favour of Tola Odeyemi.
Westernpost gathered that Odeyemi on Monday met with staff of the agency as part of activities for her resumption.
She was said to be meeting the staff at the top office around 2 pm Monday afternoon.
There had been controversy over whether the former DG of the agency, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, stands removed with Odeyemi’s appointment or had been reinstated.
Adepoju was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari last year following the removal of Mr. Adebayo Adewusi, a former Commissioner for Finance in Bola Tinubu administration as governor of Lagos State.
The former Lagos govenor had allegedly sponsored Adepoju for the NIPOST job through the former Minister of Communications Isa Pantami.
Adepoju was a special assistant to Tinubu in that administration.
But Odeyemi had surprisingly emerged as NIPOST DG as part of new appointments made by President Tinubu last week, thus throwing the postal service industry into a quandary.
Adepoju was said to have performed creditably in that office, clearing the mess in NIPOST and moving to reposition the agency to perform optimally.
Initial reports were that President Tinubu had reversed Odeyemi’s appointment, reportedly asking Adepoju not to hand over and that Odeyemi would be reassigned.
But the confusion was cleared with Odeyemi taking charge this afternoon.
