President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to veteran journalist and publisher, Mr. Seye Kehinde, as he marks his 60th birthday on April 24.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Kehinde’s significant contributions to Nigerian journalism, particularly through the establishment of City People Magazine in November 1996—a publication renowned for its people-centered reporting and influence on society.
Reflecting on Kehinde’s career, President Tinubu highlighted his early work at African Concord, his role in co-founding The NEWS magazine and TEMPO in 1993, and his eventual emergence as a media entrepreneur with City People.
“Seye’s over thirty years of impactful journalism, from daring reporter and editor to accomplished media entrepreneur, remain an inspiration to the younger generation,” the President said. “He exemplifies how hard work, dedication, and consistency can lead to the peak of professional success.”
President Tinubu encouraged Kehinde to remain committed to promoting credible and people-focused journalism, particularly in today’s digital age.
He wished the media icon a joyful 60th birthday and prayed for continued success and many more years in good health.
