President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, former First Lady of Lagos State, on the occasion of her 60th birthday, celebrated on April 6.
In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded Dame Fashola for her dedication to public service, describing her as a seasoned administrator and a passionate advocate for health and socio-economic causes.
Dame Fashola, wife of former Lagos State Governor and former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), was praised by the President for her impactful role in raising public awareness on children’s and women’s health through various sensitisation campaigns.
President Tinubu commended her unwavering support for her husband throughout his tenure in public office, noting that her devotion to family life has served as an inspiring example. He also highlighted the interfaith harmony in her marriage—being a devout Christian married to a Muslim—as a model of unity and mutual respect in a diverse nation like Nigeria.
The President further applauded her leadership of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), particularly initiatives such as the launch of recreation centres and support for the screening and treatment of women for breast and cervical cancers.
He wished Dame Fashola continued good health, happiness, and fulfillment in the years ahead.
