President Tinubu celebrates Olubadan of Ibadan at 90

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, as he marks his 90th birthday on July 5 and the first anniversary of his coronation on July 12.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday, President Tinubu praised the monarch as a symbol of wisdom, dignity, and enduring leadership, describing him as a “foremost traditional ruler” and a “revered elder statesman.”

“At 90, His Majesty embodies the rare blend of age-old wisdom, service, and enduring leadership through decades of selfless dedication to nation-building and community development,” the President noted.

Tinubu lauded Oba Olakulehin for his unwavering commitment to preserving Yoruba culture, tradition, and identity, as well as for fostering peace and progress in Ibadanland throughout his reign.

“As you mark nine decades of a life well lived in service, sacrifice, and stewardship, and on your first anniversary on the throne of your forefathers, we honour not only your longevity but also your immense contributions to community development and national unity,” Tinubu said.

He offered prayers for the monarch’s continued strength, health, and longevity, expressing hope that his reign would remain a symbol of peace, prosperity, and pride for generations to come.

Oba Olakulehin was crowned the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland in July 2024, following a respected career of public service and leadership.
