President Tinubu departs for France ahead of AU Summit in Ethiopia

President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Wednesday for a private visit to Paris, France, before proceeding to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the upcoming African Union (AU) summit.
The summit, scheduled for February 12–16, 2025, will feature the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu is expected to arrive in Addis Ababa early next week to join other African leaders in discussions on regional and continental issues.
During his stop in France, Tinubu will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss bilateral relations and strategic partnerships.
Further details on the President’s engagements at the AU summit are expected in the coming days.
