President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the devastation caused by recent floods that have affected communities and farmlands across Nigeria.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, Tinubu conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to all those impacted by the natural disaster, particularly the bereaved families, farmers, displaced communities, and individuals who have lost property.

The floods, according to recent data from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), have resulted in the loss of lives, the destruction of thousands of hectares of farmlands, and the displacement of numerous people nationwide.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of collective efforts to tackle environmental challenges and underscored the need to build a more climate-resilient and adaptive society.

He also offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives in the floods and reassured Nigerians that his administration, through the relevant agencies, would continue to provide essential support to the victims and ensure timely warnings are issued to mitigate the effects of future environmental disasters.
