President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the timely completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road project, emphasizing that no contractor will be permitted to delay its progress.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, during an inspection visit to the project site on Thursday. He was accompanied by the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, and members of the National Assembly Committees on Works.

Speaking at the site, Minister Idris, in a post on his X account, highlighted President Tinubu’s resolve to ensure the project’s completion within the next 14 months, as outlined by the Ministry of Works.

“Mr. President is resolute in seeing the completion of this road. We will not allow any contractor to hold us to ransom. We do not have the luxury of waiting another three years for this road to be constructed,” Idris stated.

Addressing concerns about delays and criticisms surrounding the project, the Minister urged stakeholders to avoid politicizing the matter.

“This road is not about politics—it’s about development. President Tinubu is determined to ensure this major artery, which connects the Federal Capital Territory to Kano and other states, is completed. Nothing will stop it,” he added.
