…Commissions key projects
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to launch the Nigeria Police Green Initiative on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Jabi, Abuja.
According to a statement signed by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Wednesday, the initiative aims to reduce the environmental footprint of police operations by implementing eco-friendly practices and adopting renewable energy sources.
The launch will feature activities such as tree planting, the creation of green zones within police formations, and the promotion of sustainable practices among police personnel.
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) intends for this initiative to significantly contribute to global efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment for future generations.

In a related development, President Tinubu, represented by the Honorable Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, today commissioned two major projects of the NPF: the NPF National Cybercrime Centre and the NPF Resource Centre.
The NPF National Cybercrime Centre is a cutting-edge facility dedicated to anti-cybercrime operations, serving as the central hub for national efforts to combat cybercrime. It leverages advanced technology and digital tools to enhance the operational capabilities of the police force.
Meanwhile, the NPF Resource Centre is a versatile facility featuring state-of-the-art conference halls and accommodation spaces designed to support a wide range of activities, including training sessions, conferences, and workshops, fostering professional development and collaboration.
During the commissioning, President Tinubu reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to investing in the NPF by providing necessary equipment, facilities, and training.
He highlighted the importance of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre in upholding national security and aligning with his administration’s reformation agenda. He also emphasized the need for interagency collaboration to eliminate inter-agency rivalry.
Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun expressed gratitude to the President for his support towards the technological advancement of policing in Nigeria.
He assured that the police force would utilize the new facilities to enhance professionalism and clamp down on cybercriminal activities across the country.
