The wife of Nigeria’s Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to building a prosperous Nigeria. Speaking at the annual Ramadan feast in Maiduguri, she described the government’s focus on economic reforms, empowerment programs, and strategic investments in key sectors as essential to laying the foundation for a better future.

Hajiya Shettima urged Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts and provide constructive feedback on policies instead of resorting to politically motivated criticism. She praised President Tinubu’s vision for future generations, likening his leadership to someone “baking a new cake” for both current and future Nigerians.

She also acknowledged the vital role of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in advancing initiatives such as the Renewed Hope Initiative, which has benefited women, children, and people with disabilities. Mrs. Shettima emphasized that continued prayers and support for President Tinubu and his administration are crucial for the nation’s progress.

In addition, Dr. Asabe Bashir, Director General of the Maryam Babangida Centre for Women Development, spoke on the importance of prayer during Ramadan, urging Borno residents to continue supporting the government’s efforts for a prosperous Nigeria. The Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Tijjani Abubakar, also expressed gratitude for the President’s focus on youth empowerment.

Dr. Martins Ekunke, representing the South-South, Yoruba, and Igbo communities in Borno, commended the First Lady for her advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS.
