President Tinubu mourns death of business icon Aminu Dantata

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of elder statesman and renowned businessman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 94.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Dantata’s passing as a “monumental national loss,” praising his outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
The late Dantata, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s private sector, was widely respected for his business acumen and philanthropic efforts, particularly in education and healthcare. He also served in public office, including as Commissioner for Planning and Development in the old Kano State.
President Tinubu recalled his personal relationship with Dantata, describing him as a source of wise counsel and strong support.
“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman,” Tinubu said. “He will be remembered for his industry, diligence, steadfastness, and great commitment to national unity.”
The President extended his condolences to the Dantata family, as well as the government and people of Kano State, mourning the loss of one of Nigeria’s most illustrious sons.
