President Bola Tinubu has expressed grief over the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sanusi, the Galadiman Kano and senior kingmaker of the Kano Emirate.

Alhaji Sanusi died at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness, leaving behind many children and grandchildren, including Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Tinubu described the late Sanusi as a strong pillar of the traditional institution, highlighting his significant contributions to its survival and development.

He noted that the services of the late Sanusi, who had held the title since 1959, would be appreciated far beyond the Kano Emirate and Kano State.

The President extended his condolences to the government and people of Kano State, the Kano Emirate Council, and the family of the deceased, acknowledging the irreparable loss.

He prayed to Allah to grant the Galadiman Kano eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus and to comfort his family.
