President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, following the passing of his wife, Gbemisola Olutayo Olowolafe.
Mrs. Olowolafe passed away on March 11 at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for her family and community.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu joined the Olowolafe family in mourning, describing the late Gbemisola as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose life was marked by compassion and charity.
The President paid tribute to Mrs. Olowolafe’s lifelong commitment to family and philanthropy, emphasizing that her impact on those who knew her would endure.
Addressing his longtime friend, Dr. Olowolafe, Tinubu encouraged him to find strength in the memories they shared and in the strong family they built together.
He urged the Olowolafe family to trust in God’s divine comfort, reminding them that while death is inevitable, faith assures believers of God’s eternal presence.
“Death is a fate that will ultimately befall every individual. But for people of faith, we are reminded that God will not abandon any of us when we close our eyes in perpetuity. May your lovely wife be ushered into the realm of eternal light, where darkness is forever banished,” the President said.
President Tinubu prayed for God’s grace to uphold the Olowolafe family during this difficult time and for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.
