JUST IN: Tinubu to arrive Abuja today

By Kunle Sanni –
President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a 10-day working visit to Lagos, where he engaged with key investors and government officials on national development matters.
The President had arrived in Lagos on September 26, shortly after attending the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.
During his stay in the commercial hub, President Tinubu held talks with notable investors, including Global Infrastructure Partners’ Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ogunlesi, and Metis Capital Partners Chairman, Hakeem Belo-Osagie, formerly of the United Bank for Africa and Etisalat. Discussions focused on strengthening private investment and infrastructure growth in Nigeria.
The President also hosted the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other stakeholders in the sector. Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning Nigeria’s maritime industry as a key driver of economic diversification beyond fossil fuels.
Ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, President Tinubu travelled to Imo State, where he commissioned several projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled the governor’s new book chronicling a decade of APC-led governance.
He later delivered the Independence Day broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, and commissioned the refurbished National Theatre in Lagos, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts. In his remarks, he urged Nigerians to speak positively about the country and support efforts toward national unity.
Concluding his tour, President Tinubu attended the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State. He paid tribute to the deceased and assured Christian communities in the North of his administration’s continued commitment to fairness, equity, and inclusion.
