President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Ghana’s newly elected President, John Dramani Mahama.

The presidential aircraft landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, where the President was welcomed by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and other senior government and security officials.

During his visit to Accra as the special guest of honour, President Tinubu commended Ghana’s democratic progress, describing the peaceful transition of power as a testament to Africa’s capacity for democracy and productive governance.

He highlighted the need for African nations, particularly ECOWAS members, to collaborate in addressing pressing regional challenges, including poverty, youth unemployment, instability, and insurgency.

President Tinubu emphasized that unity and cooperation are essential for achieving meaningful progress in West Africa.

Before his trip to Accra, President Tinubu had been in Lagos since December 18 for the Christmas and New Year holidays. During his stay, he held discussions with Vice President Kashim Shettima and the leadership of the National Assembly, including former principal officers.
