President Tinubu vows justice for victims of Plateau attack

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the brutal attacks on several communities in Plateau State, vowing that the perpetrators will be apprehended and face the full weight of the law.

In a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the killings in Ruwi, Hurti, and Tadai communities in Bokkos Local Government Area, as well as Manguna and Dafo villages. The attacks left dozens dead and properties destroyed.

Describing the gunmen as “mindless” and their actions as “unacceptable,” the president directed security agencies to hunt down those responsible, warning that they would face severe punishment upon capture.

“The latest attacks on defenseless citizens are unacceptable,” Tinubu said. “These intermittent attacks should have no place in our country at a time when we are working so hard to restore peace and order.”

He extended condolences to the families of the victims and commiserated with Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the government of Plateau State. Tinubu urged the affected communities to support ongoing investigations by volunteering useful information to security agencies.

To assist those affected, Tinubu also ordered the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to work with Plateau State authorities to provide immediate relief and aid in rebuilding efforts.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and all those affected by this senseless violence,” he said. “We must unite to foster peace and stability. I urge all citizens—regardless of ethnic, religious, or political affiliations—to embrace peace and reject retaliation.”

The president reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting all Nigerians and eradicating the forces of evil threatening national unity and security.
