Aliyu Audu has stepped down from his role as Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Public Affairs, marking the end of his tenure in the administration less than a year after his appointment.

In a resignation letter dated June 8, 2025, and addressed to the President through the Chief of Staff, Audu stated that his decision to resign takes immediate effect. While he did not provide specific reasons for his departure, he expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve.

“I remain deeply grateful to you, Mr. President, for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” he wrote. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”

Audu also acknowledged the role of Ajuri Ngelale, the former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in facilitating his appointment. He was nominated for the position on August 26, 2023, and his appointment was officially approved by President Tinubu on October 9, 2023.
