Progressive Governors showcase clarity, responsibility, commitment to Nigerians’ welfare- Lagos APC

Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) for demonstrating exceptional unity, courage, and patriotic responsibility during its historic meeting held in Lagos on December 5 and 6, 2025.
In a statement on Monday, Lagos APC Spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described the forum, chaired by Governor Hope Uzodimma and hosted by Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as a “defining moment” in progressive leadership, emphasizing that true governance is guided by conviction rather than convenience.
Oladejo highlighted the forum’s unambiguous support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that the governors anchored their deliberations on facts, governance responsibility, and the long-term interests of Nigeria.
“Their endorsement of ongoing reforms in food security, power, transportation, infrastructure, enterprise support, social investment, and national security reflects a strategic alignment between the states and the centre—a synergy critical for national recovery and sustainable growth,” the statement said.
The Lagos APC also praised the forum for placing citizens’ welfare at the centre of governance, stressing that the governors addressed the challenges associated with macroeconomic reforms with honesty and a commitment to scaling up interventions in food production, youth employment, SME support, and social protection for vulnerable groups.
Oladejo added that the forum’s commitment to coordinated action with federal institutions, the National Economic Council, and local governments demonstrated mature governance and shared responsibility.
“The PGF has sent a loud and reassuring message: Nigeria is on course, the leadership is aligned, and the future remains deliberately hopeful,” he said, describing the meeting as a landmark occasion that showcased progressivism driven by results rather than political noise.
The Lagos APC concluded by reaffirming pride in Lagos State for hosting such a significant event in Nigeria’s democratic and developmental journey, urging Nigerians to take confidence in the clarity of purpose demonstrated by the Progressive Governors.
