Prominent Ondo broadcaster, Sanya Oyinsan, loses wife

Chief (Mrs.) Florence Olufunke Oyinsan, wife of veteran media executive and community leader, Chief Sanya Oyinsan, has passed away.

Her death was confirmed by one of her sons, Mr. Tope Oyinsan, an Akure-based broadcaster, who said the family matriarch died on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a brief illness. She was 73.

Until her death, Mrs. Oyinsan was a devoted Christian and an active member of St. David’s Cathedral, Anglican Communion, Ijomu, Akure.

She was known for her gentle disposition, strong faith, and unwavering support for her husband, Chief Sanya Oyinsan, an Akure-born media icon and respected community leader.

The deceased was last seen publicly with her husband during his 80th birthday celebration in 2024—an event that drew family, friends, and admirers from within and outside Ondo State.

In a statement, the family expressed gratitude to friends and well-wishers for their sympathy and prayers, adding that details of the burial arrangements would be announced later.
