Protests in Kano over planned invasion of Niger

A group of demonstrators on Saturday took to the streets in Kano State, expressing their strong opposition to the potential use of force to resolve the ongoing Niger coup crisis.
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) had instructed the armed forces of its member states to be on alert.
On Saturday, the protesters gathered for a demonstration on Ibrahim Taiwo Road, where they voiced their concern over the looming military intervention in Niger Republic.
As they marched in unity, they chanted slogans that emphasized the shared bonds between nations: “Nigeriens are our brothers, Nigeriens are also our family. Niger is a part of us; we stand for peace. Waging war on Niger is an act of injustice driven by external motives.”
The demonstrators made their sentiments clear by waving the flags of both Nigeria and Niger, alongside displaying placards adorned with messages denouncing the idea of armed conflict.
Amid the crowd were individuals affiliated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).
