The founder of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, has expressed confidence in the resurgence of the country’s national teams under the leadership of Mallam Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Dikko, Ladipo highlighted his belief that Dikko’s leadership qualities would positively impact Nigerian sports, particularly football.
In his words, “The way sports were mismanaged before made it difficult for us to win. Now that Shehu is here, we will win again. There is a winning spirit that moves with Shehu. We saw it when he took over our league. He knows how to achieve his goals, and I have no doubt that he will succeed. He is a go-getter.”
Ladipo expressed optimism that Dikko would swiftly deliver on his targets, noting his preparedness for the role.
“He is prepared. He is not like most of these ones who come to learn on the job. He knows exactly what to do and how to go about it. The difference here is that he will not spend his tenure trying to figure out where the problem lies. This is a big advantage for him,” he added.
