Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, describing him as a rare gift to humanity.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a congratulatory message issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described President Tinubu as an enigmatic, tested, and trusted politician and democrat, whose credentials are worthy of academic research.

He said: “On behalf of my wife, Ibijoke, my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, as well as the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, I congratulate our leader and benefactor, President Bola Tinubu, on his 73rd birthday.

“President Tinubu has dedicated a significant part of his life to serving humanity, Lagos State, and Nigeria. He is passionate about the country’s growth and development. A true democrat and advocate of good governance, he has consistently collaborated with pro-democracy groups and individuals for positive change and the advancement of Nigeria’s democracy.

“He is undoubtedly the father of modern Lagos. His tenure as the first governor in the Fourth Republic transformed the state. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s financial acumen and economic intellect, which he applied as Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007, have propelled Lagos to greater heights. Today, Lagos stands as Nigeria’s pride, occupying an enviable position as Africa’s second-largest economy, with a GDP of $259 billion.

“President Tinubu is a detribalized Nigerian whose heart accommodates all sections of the country. In less than two years as President, he has delivered democratic dividends and good governance across Nigeria through his Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Since assuming office, he has demonstrated unparalleled patriotism, integrity, honesty, and courage in nation-building, steering Nigeria in the right direction. He has provided transparent leadership, taking bold and audacious decisions while implementing the right policies to address the country’s economic challenges.

“As our leader turns 73, we pray that God grants him strength, wisdom, and good health to continue steering Nigeria toward political and economic prosperity.”
