Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday announced that the Red Line Rail Service will expand its capacity, increasing its daily trips to five in the morning and four in the evening, up from the current two-morning trips.

Sanwo-Olu made this known on his Twitter handle, stating:

“This enhancement ensures better commuting options for residents traveling between Agbado and Oyingbo.

“With a total journey time of just 50 minutes from Agbado to Oyingbo and reduced waiting times of two minutes at each station, the Red Line delivers efficient and reliable transportation, making daily commutes faster and more convenient.

“This milestone reflects our commitment to improving mobility across Lagos. The arrival of three new train sets will further boost the Red Line’s capacity, reinforcing its role as a vital part of our integrated transport system.

“The Red Line isn’t just a train service—it’s a game-changer for commuting in Lagos. We are building a city where connectivity drives economic growth and improves the quality of life for all residents.”

The enhanced service is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide a more efficient alternative for daily commuters.
