Regina Daniels marks 25th birthday in wheelchair, opens up about health issues

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about her health challenges after celebrating her 25th birthday in a wheelchair, revealing that persistent pain and mobility difficulties have affected her daily life in recent months.

The actress made the disclosure in an Instagram post featuring a video of herself in a wheelchair while lighting her birthday candles. Captioning the post, she wrote, “Cheers to 25 and thankful to God,” while reflecting on her ongoing health struggles and expressing faith in her recovery.

In the video, Daniels explained that her condition worsened after she hosted a Children’s Day carnival, leaving her unable to move freely on some days despite undergoing several medical tests. She described the experience as physically painful and emotionally challenging.

“I lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor but eventually led to this. Things took a major turn after the last public gathering that I held for my Children’s Day carnival. It has been one test after another that I started calling myself a lab rat,” she said.

The actress added that the pain sometimes made walking difficult, explaining that her mobility fluctuated, with some days better than others. Although the condition had taken a toll on her mental well-being, she expressed determination to continue seeking medical solutions.

Despite the difficulties, Daniels said she had experienced some improvement in her condition and remained hopeful, attributing her strength to her faith in God. She also disclosed plans to move into a new home located close to her medical facilities and children, although she did not provide further details about her health condition.

According to the actress, the property was initially intended to be rented but later became a home she decided to own. She added that several household items, including furniture, a solar power system and a television, were gifts from people who wanted to support her during the challenging period.

Daniels also spoke emotionally about the time she spent with her children, describing the experience as a reminder of the first moments she held them after birth. As she navigates this phase of her life, the actress prayed for peace and stability, while expressing hope for better days ahead.
