Globally acclaimed Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema has been announced as one of the dignitaries attending the wedding of Anant Ambani in India.
Rema joins Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Mike Tyson, and a former UK prime minister for the wedding, which is bankrolled by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani.
In the same vein, Rema is billed to perform at the wedding alongside other big names in the global music scene.
Anant is tying the knot with Radhika Merchant, his long-time girlfriend, today, Friday, July 12, at the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. According to the Hindustan Times, Rema charged the couple $3 million (₦4.5 billion) to perform his hit song ‘Calm Down’ at the wedding. The Afrobeats singer is already in India for the performance, according to a clip he shared on Instagram Story.

In the short video, Rema is captured walking towards a private chartered plane. He is sporting an all-black outfit and has his face covered with black fabric.
Rumour has it that Rema has been paid $3 million to perform just one song at the flamboyant wedding in India.
When many wondered why Rema was paid such a huge sum, it was gathered that he became the toast of the couple when his hit single, ‘Calm Down,’ became India’s second longest-charting African song at No. 1.
Mukesh, father of the groom, is the richest man in Asia and one of the wealthiest men in the world. His son’s wedding is estimated to cost upwards of $600 million. The four-day wedding extravaganza in Mumbai City is the final stop in a string of lavish parties the family has hosted since March. Last week, Justin Bieber was reportedly paid $10 million to perform at the family’s private pre-wedding concert.
Other notable guests include former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair and Stephen Harper, former Canadian prime minister.
