REVEALED: How APC chairmanship aspirants shut down Ali Modu Sheriff at parley with Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday night met with chairmanship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa where he told them the party must pick a consensus chairman at Saturday’s national convention.
His choice as consensus chairman is former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Adamu Abdullahi.
President Buhari ordered that the N20million paid for nomination forms by each of the other aspirants be returned to them by the party.
He spoke from a prepared text and entertained no response.
As soon as he ended his speech, the president got up and took his leave.
Chairmanship aspirants present at the meeting included Senator Abdullahi, Senator George Akume, Senator Sani Musa Muhammed, Senator Tanko Al-Makura, Alhaji Saliu Mustapha and Alhaji Abubakar Yari Abubakar.
Surprisingly, however, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff who had since openly dropped out of the chairmanship race also attended the meeting.
Now, WESTERN POST can report that as if acting a script, Ali Modu Sheriff got up after the president had left to say the other chairmanship aspirants should now proceed to speak with State House Correspondents to announce their withdrawal from the race.
He was instantly shut down by the aspirants. Vocal among these were Senator Akume and Musa Muhammed.
Some of them questioned what Ali Modu Sheriff was doing at the meeting in the first instance.
The chairmanship aspirants left the Villa with their tails in between their legs.
