REVEALED: Minister of State Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, resigned April 28

Minister of State Education, Emeka Nwajiuba resigned from office on April 28, WesternPost has gathered.

This is against media reports that he resigned today after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered all his appointees interested in seeking elective positions to resign before Monday, May 16.

According to many sources in the presidential villa who spoke to WesternPost on the condition of anonymity, the junior education minister’s resignation was received officially by President Muhammadu Buhari after he had dropped it on April 28.

“Nwajiuba actually resigned on April 28, a day after he picked the APC (All Progressives Congress) presidential nomination and expression of interest forms. His resignation was then accepted by President Buhari a week later last Thursday,” the villa source told WesternPost.

“It was on that basis that President Buhari ordered all the other ministers to take a cue from him by resigning latest by Monday.”

Nwajiuba was also the first APC presidential aspirant to pick the forms on April 27.
