Russian Technical Personnel arrive Ajaokuta Steel

In preparation for the resuscitation of the project, a team of twenty-three Russians who were the original builders of the Ajaokuta Steel Company have arrived in Ajaokuta with the company’s engineering team for a technical audit
For efficient operations, some analogue equipment needs to be replaced by digital equipment.
According to Sumaila Abdul-Akaba, the administrator of the Ajaokuta Steel Company, who verified this information to NTA, the team toured a number of facilities, including the oxygen plant, the light mills section, and the thermal power plant.
Recall that the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, had in April this year, engaged a Russian consortium led by the original developers of Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL), Tyamzhpromexport (TPE), to revive the steel plant.
The Minister had met with the consortium comprising a team from Russia’s TPE/Rostec, Novostal, and Nigeria’s Proforce in Abuja, and urged them to put together a blueprint for the revival of the steel plant within the shortest possible time.
