Sanusi urges Flying Eagles to beat Senegal, seal World Cup spot

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has tasked the Flying Eagles with defeating Senegal in their quarter-final clash at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations to secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
NFF Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi, delivered the charge during a visit to the team at their training ground at Mercure Hotel in Ismailia on Saturday. He emphasized the importance of earning a spot at the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile.
“The NFF president is passionate about youth football and is doing everything possible to ensure this team gets the best,” Sanusi told the players. “The World Cup ticket is crucial for you and also for us, so I urge you to play your hearts out to reach the semi-final.”
Monday’s match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, kicking off at 1 p.m. Nigeria time.
The Flying Eagles finished second in Group B with five points from three matches.
