Sanwo-Olu commends Justice Kekere-Ekun’s contributions at celebratory dinner

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu celebrated Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, Chief Justice of Nigeria, on Sunday, recognizing her achievements and contributions to the Nigerian judiciary.
In a statement shared on X following a dinner held in her honor, Sanwo-Olu praised Justice Kekere-Ekun as a “proud daughter of Lagos” and lauded her pioneering role as the second woman to hold Nigeria’s highest judicial office.

“Justice Kekere-Ekun embodies a source of pride for every Lagosian,” the governor remarked, emphasizing her impact as an inspiring figure for women and young girls across the country.
The governor pointed to her exemplary leadership as a “guiding light,” showcasing how excellence and dedication can transcend gender boundaries.

Sanwo-Olu also highlighted Lagos State’s longstanding commitment to legal innovation, mentioning past governors’ contributions in implementing reforms that have shaped the state’s judiciary as a model for Nigeria. He expressed pride in Lagos’ ability to nurture outstanding legal professionals, both within the bar and the bench.
