Sanwo-Olu, Dbanj, MI, others rock Headies Award in Atlanta

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Oladapo Oyebanjo with stage name Dbanj, former chocolate city boss and rapper, Jude Abaga (MI) among other musical acts and celebrities converged on Atlanta in United States for this year’s international edition of Headies Awards on Sunday.
The show produced by Ayo Animashaun has rewarded and celebrated Nigeria musical stars and their exploits in the last 15 years and has become one of the most sought after by established and upcoming musical artistes.
While the 2022, like previous editions has not gone without its own controversy, Headies has established itself as the most consistent and authentic recognition platform for musical talents in Nigeria.
Speaking on the Awards via his social media accounts, the Lagos State governor, who is the Chief Host for the 2022 Headies said his administration will continue to partner with the creative sector as cultural export, adding that the global acceptance of Nigeria’s music has positively enhanced the image of the country.
Lagos State government, Sanwo-Olu noted, collaborated with the organisers of Headies to encourage the growth of the sector.
“In order to encourage and collaborate better with our entertainment industry, we were privileged to attend the just concluded 15th Headies Global Awards, in Atlanta.
“I must say it was indeed one of the proudest moments of my life as a Nigerian who appreciates the hardwork all these entertainers put into their craft. I’m also glad to be associated with these bundles of talents.
“The acceptance of our music and culture globally, is what makes us unique as Nigerians.
I would therefore congratulate the organizers of this prestigious awards, especially Ayo Animashaun for pulling such a feat.
“Big congratulations to all the nominees and eventual winners of the awards in the different categories. You’re all winners, and we salute you all,” Sanwo-Olu wrote on his Facebook page
