Sanwo-Olu declares Tuesday work-free for 2024 Isese Day celebration

In celebration of the 2024 Isese Day in Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared Tuesday, August 20, as a work-free day for all public servants in the state.

The declaration was communicated on Monday through a circular issued by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro.

This announcement allows traditional worshippers to observe the day, with work resuming in all public offices, including courts, on Wednesday.

“It is hereby notified for general information that this Year’s Isese Day Celebration will hold on Tuesday, 20th August 2024.

In emphasizing the commitment to supporting traditional institutions and promoting indigenous traditions by preserving cultural heritage, Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has approved that Tuesday, 20th August 2024, be declared a Work-Free Day for Public Servants in the State.

Consequently, work will resume on Wednesday, 21st August 2024, at 8:00 a.m. Accordingly, all Accounting Officers are enjoined to note the contents of this Circular and ensure it receives the necessary Service-wide publicity,” the circular read.
