Sanwo-Olu launches land administration portal

The governor of Lagos state, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday launched the land administration portal to stamp out corruption in the parastatal.
Sanwo-olu said that the portal would enable transactions to be done virtually instead of the usual practice of going to the Land Bureau in Alausa, Ikeja.
In his address, the governor said that the idea was to truly make land administration seamless and a twenty-first century compliant.
He said that the online portal would increase productivity, raise revenue for the state, secure land titles and ensure convenience of service.
He said “This tool will streamline business work flow to enhance revenue generation and document to enhance customer experience expecting that this will be delivered at their doorstep as citizens of Lagos. We want them to have a delightful experience each time they remember this portal and what the land administration is. Let’s condemn corruption amongst us . Let us earn gratitude, not conditions you customers”.
Sanwo-Olu said that the land portal would help other ministries, departments, and agencies to have access to information at the click of a button.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on e-GIS and Urban Development, Dr. Olajide Babatunde thanked the team of dedicated staff for taking on the challenging task of making the portal a reality.
“You will no longer need to travel to Alausa anymore you can enjoy our service from anywhere in the world. Let us further experience the possibilities of automation which would bring efficiency and quality in the themes plus agenda”, Babatunde noted
Earlier, the Head of Service, Mr Bode Agoro, who initiated the project when he was the Permanent Secretary of Lands Bureau, said that the online portal rested on the past developments.
Agoro said that the portal would ensure efficiency, curb forgery and other corrupt practices in land administration.
