Sanwo-Olu pledges to fix deplorable roads across Lagos

By Adeola Ogunrinde –
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has vowed to repair all dilapidated roads across Lagos State that require government attention.
He made the promise while commissioning the reconstructed Abaranje Road in Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area, as well as Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Old Dopemu) Road in Agege Local Government Area.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that his administration understands the needs of Lagosians and is committed to providing essential social infrastructure throughout the state. He assured that no area would be left behind in the development agenda.
“We are focused on balanced development across every part of Lagos. We hear the people’s calls for more infrastructure and are determined to deliver. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for all residents, ease traffic congestion around old Ipaja, and boost the local economy,” the governor stated.

Using the occasion, Sanwo-Olu also campaigned for his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging voters to support its candidates in the upcoming local government elections next Saturday. He highlighted the party’s achievements as reason enough to secure voter confidence.
Earlier, the Onikotun of Ikotun, Oba Azeez Asiwaju, appealed to the governor to complete the remaining phases of the Abaranje Road project, explaining that the current work represents only the first of three phases needed to fully develop the road. He urged that phases two and three be carried out without delay.
The monarch also requested the construction of public secondary and primary schools in the community, as well as a flyover at the Ikotun Road roundabout to ease traffic.
In response, Governor Sanwo-Olu assured the traditional ruler that all his requests would be addressed. He asked the monarch to provide land for the schools and revealed that his team had already assessed the flyover project, with work set to begin soon.
