Sanwo-Olu swears in eight permanent secretaries, says 111 appointed since 2019

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has revealed that he has sworn in 111 permanent secretaries since assuming office nearly six years ago. He made this known on Thursday while swearing in eight newly appointed permanent secretaries in Lagos.
In his address, Sanwo-Olu charged the new appointees to demonstrate complete loyalty to his administration and uphold a culture of accountability.
Speaking after administering the oath of office and oath of secrecy to the permanent secretaries, the governor stated that they were selected as the best among the directors who applied for the position.
“You are well deserving of this appointment. The people of Lagos State and I have high expectations of you. You should contribute significantly to the success of this administration,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu reminded the appointees that their new status comes with greater responsibilities and urged them to provide results-oriented leadership and efficient service delivery.
The newly sworn-in permanent secretaries are Dr. Idowu Abiola, Mr. Olanrewaju Aderinsola, Mr. Bajulaiye Adetokunbo, Mr. Mahmud Tajudeen, Mr. Agbabiaka Wasiu, Mr. Oki Gbolahan, Mrs. Onigbanjo Rainat, and Mr. Olayinka Adebayo.
Speaking at the ceremony, the state’s Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, said the appointment of the new permanent secretaries was aimed at revitalizing government policies.
He commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his fairness and transparency in the appointment process, adding that the selected candidates emerged from a pool of directors who participated in the 2024 and 2025 screening exercises.
