Saraki meets PDP senators over 2023 presidential ambition

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki would meet with Senators elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today.

The meeting is not unconnected with Saraki’s ambition to be Nigeria’s president in 2023.

WESTERN POST had earlier reported that Saraki picked his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest in the PDP presidential primaries on Monday.

Saraki was President of the Eighth Senate between 2015 and 2019.

The notice of meeting between Saraki and members of the Senate PDP caucus was contained in a letter signed by the Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe.

The letter was read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over plenary on Tuesday.

The time of the meeting was slated for 7pm.

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had also met with the APC caucus in the senate last week to get their support in clinching the party’s presidential ticket.
