Second batch of Lagos Pilgrims return from holy lands

The second batch of Lagos State pilgrims on Monday arrived safely at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, after a successful pilgrimage to the holy lands of Israel and Jordan.

At the arrival ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adewunmi Gbolahan Ogunsanya expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for the huge success of the pilgrimage exercise.

“The pilgrimage was well-planned and guided, with full support from the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC). We’re happy to return home, having experienced the true essence of spiritual pilgrimage in Jerusalem and Jordan and we are grateful to God for the wonderful experience”, said Ogunsanya.

The Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe also thanked God for the pilgrims’ safe return.

Gbafe appreciated Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and members of staff at large for their support.

The Special Adviser on Religious Matters, Very Revd Adebukola Adeleke, thanked God for journey mercies and prayed for the permanent impact of the experience on the pilgrims’ lives.

This batch’s arrival follows the successful return of the first batch on January 1, 2025.
